السؤال
رزقني الله تعالى بولد فهل الأفضل أن أذبح عنه عقيقة أو الأفضل أن أتصدق بثمنها ؟.
الجواب
الحمد لله
ذبح العقيقة أفضل من التصدق بثمنها ، بل لا يقوم التصدق بالمال مقام العقيقة ولا يجزئ عنها ، لأن المقصود من العقيقة هو التقرب إلى الله تعالى بالذبح .
قال ابن القيم في "تحفة المودود بأحكام المولود"
ص (164) :
الذبح في موضعه أفضل من الصدقة بثمنه ولو زاد ، كالهدايا والأضاحي ، فإن نفس الذبح وإراقة الدم مقصود ، فإنه عبادة مقرونة بالصلاة ، كما قال تعالى : ( فصل لربك وانحر ) الكوثر / 2 ، وقال تعالى : ( قل إن صلاتي ونسكي ومحياي ومماتي لله رب العالمين ) الأنعام / 162 .
ففي كل ملة صلاة ونسيكة لا يقوم غيرهما مقامهما ، ولهذا لو تصدق عن دم المتعة والقران بأضعاف أضعاف القيمة لم يقم مقامه ، وكذلك الأضحية . والله أعلم اهـ .
وسئلت اللجنة الدائمة (11/449) : عن إخراج الفلوس بدلاً من العقيقة .
فأجابت :
( يعق عن الذكر شاتان ، وعن الأنثى شاة ولا يجزئ دفع الفلوس ونحوها ) اهـ .
وسئلت اللجنة الدائمة أيضاً (11/440) : هل يجزئ أن أشتري اللحم بدلاً من ذبح العقيقة ؟
فأجابت :
( لا يجزئ إلا ذبح شاة عن البنت ، وشاتين عن الابن ) اهـ .

Is it better to do the ‘aqeeqah or to give its price in charity
Allaah has blessed me with a son. Is it better to slaughter the ‘aqeeqah on his behalf or to give its price in charity?.
Praise be to Allaah. Sacrificing the ‘aqeeqah is better than giving its price in charity, indeed, giving the money in charity instead of doing the ‘aqeeqah does not serve the intended purpose, because the purpose of ‘aqeeqah is to draw closer to Allaah by means of offering this sacrifice.
Ibn al-Qayyim said in Tuhfat al-Mawdood bi Ahkaam al-Mawlood, p. 164:
Offering a sacrifice when it is prescribed is better than giving its price in charity even if one gives more than the price, like sacrifices offered during Hajj and at Eid al-Adha, because the aim is to carry out the actual act of slaughter and shedding the blood, because this is an act of worship which is mentioned alongside prayer, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only)”
[al-Kawthar 108:2]
“Say (O Muhammad): Verily, my Salaah (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allaah, the Lord of the ‘Aalameen (mankind, jinn and all that exists)”
[al-An’aam 6:162]
In every religion, nothing can take the place of prayer and sacrifice, hence if many times the value of the sacrificial animal for tamattu’ and qiraan (Hajj) were to be given in charity, that would not take the place of the sacrifice. The same applies to all kinds of sacrifice. And Allaah knows best.
The Standing Committee was asked (11/449) about paying money instead of doing the ‘aqeeqah. They replied:
“Two sheep should be slaughtered for a boy and one for a girl; it is not acceptable to pay money etc instead.”
And the Standing Committee was also asked (11/440): Is it acceptable to buy meat instead of slaughtering the ‘aqeeqah?
They replied:
It is only acceptable to slaughter one sheep for a girl and two for a boy.

L’immolation d’un animal (dans le cadre de la célébration d’un baptême) est meilleure que l’offre de son prix en aumône. Bien plus, l’aumône ne peut pas tenir lieu du sacrifice marquant le baptême puisque ce sacrifice permet de se rapprocher d’Allah par l’acte d’immoler (un animal).
Ibn al-Qayyim dit dans Touhfat al-mawdoud bi ahkam al-mawloud, p. 164 : « L’immolation au moment approprié vaut mieux que l’offre en aumône du prix de l’animal à sacrifier ou de plus. Ceci s’applique aux sacrifices prévus dans le pèlerinage et à celui de la fête du Sacrifice. Car l’effusion de sang est visé puisqu’elle constitue un acte de rapprochement à Allah lié à la prière, comme on le voit dans ces propos du Très Haut : «Accomplis la Salâ pour ton Seigneur et sacrifie. » (Coran, 108 : 2) et : «Dis: "En vérité, ma Salâ, mes actes de dévotion, ma vie et ma mort appartiennent à Allah, Seigneur de l' Univers. » (Coran : 6 : 162).
Toute religion préconise des prières et des sacrifices que rien d’autre ne remplace. C’est pourquoi si le pèlerin faisait une aumône plusieurs fois supérieure en valeur au prix du sacrifice prévu dans le cadre des formes de pèlerinage dites tamatou et quirane, l’aumône n’en tiendrait pas lieu. Ceci est aussi valable pour le sacrifice. Allah le sait mieux.
La Commission Permanente (11/449) a été interrogée à propos de la substitution d’un don pécuniaire fait à la place du sacrifice marquant le baptême… Elle a répondu ainsi : « Pour un garçon, il faut immoler deux moutons. Pour la fille, on peut se contenter d’un seul. Le don d’argent ne les remplace pas ».
La Commission Permanente (11/440) a été interrogée également en ces termes : « Peut-on acheter de la viande au lieu de procéder à un sacrifice consistant à immoler un mouton dans le cadre de la célébration d’un baptême ? Elle a répondu ainsi : « Il faut immoler deux moutons pour le garçon et un pour la fille ». Allah le sait mieux.
